From Naijaloft Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) gets new governor as Soludo steps down as governor of the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN).
The president of nigeria on the expiration of Chukwuma Soludo’s term as the governor of the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) has nominated Lamido Sanusi as the new governor of the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN). Soludo’s term as the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) ends officially on the 3rd of June. Lamido Sanusi is the current chief executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
If Lamido Sanusi is confirmed as the governor of the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN), it is believed the selection of Mr Sanusi as the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) governor could mark the start of tougher regulation in Nigeria’s banking sector.

Sanusi would be the first Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) governor to be screened by the Senate as stipulated in the Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) Act which came into force after the appointment of the outgoing Central Bank of nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
