JAMB UTME Results released The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has officially announced the release of the results of Jamb UTME 2010. In a statement made by JAMB it was stated that over 501,000 candidates (about 41%) scored 200 and above. Leaving 59% with scores less than 200. Over 96.2% of the Jamb UTME result has been released. According to the Jamb head, candidates can check their Jamb UTME result on the internet at a Jamb UTME result checker website.
From the information on the Jamb UTME result checker portal, you will not need your Jamb UTME scratch card to check your result, but you will require your Jamb UTME registration number. Jamb UTME result checker is at www.jambonline.org
Jamb Direct entry registration is ongoing. Candidates for Jamb DE should register online at the appropriate website. To check your JAMB UTME result visit www.jambonline.org
Last Saturday, over 1.3 million candidates sat for the first ever Jamb UTME examination in 321 towns and 2705 centres across Nigeria as well as in centres located in Accra, Ghana, Buea in the Republic of Cameroon, Cotonou in the Republic of Benin, London in the United Kingdom, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Johannesburg in South Africa.

[b]Diploma II [/b]also known in Unilag as [b]“The Foundation programme[/b]” is another method of gaining admission into The University of Lagos without doing JAMB and if one is successful one moves straight to Year 2 of the selected course.
To get admitted into Unilag’s Diploma II programme, you purchase Unilag’s Diploma II application form which costs about N12,000 and goes on sale mid-march. On purchasing the application form, you are going to choose the course you intending to study and you fill in five required subjects were you will be assessed.
With 40questions per subject bringing the total to 200marks. Based on the general performance, the cut-off mark is set. Those who get above the cut-off mark are now eligible to begin the 1year Diploma II program after paying their school fees (N350,000). With an examination at the end of each semester, your CGPA will be used to determine whether you made it into Year 2 or not. If you get above the minimum CGPA, voilà you are ADMITTED INTO THE UNIVERSITY OF FIRST CHOICE AND NATION’S PRIDE.
Eg, If Segun decides to apply for Medicine in Diploma II, he purchases the form for N12,000 then on the form he picks his five subject (English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics-are all compulsory for medicine). It is this five subjects that his assessment test will be set. If Segun gets 112 and the cut-off mark is 108, Segun can now pay his Diploma II fees (N350,000). After the 1year program, Segun gets a CGPA of 3.6 with the Medicine cut-off being 3.5, SEGUN IS NOW A 200Level student of the University of Lagos.
The advantage of Diploma II is that you are almost guarantteed admission.
