Nigerian president Umaru Yar’adua is dead.

The fifty-eight year old Yaradua died in the presidential villa at about 9 pm on wednesday.

The news of his death was confirmed by aides and also by the Information minister.  Yar’Adua, , had been ill for some time, and had not been seen in public for months. He returned to the country in february a few weeks after became Acting President but didn’t make any public appearances.

Mr. Jonathan automatically becomes the substantive president and, according to the constitution, must be sworn in tonight by Nigeria’s chief justice.

A number of politicians have begun scrambling for the post of  vice president and this has worsened the already tense atmosphere.

Ma Umaru Yar’adua’s soul rest in peace.

There is a shaking in Nigeria already. The God of Nigeria is already at work. What He gives, no man can take away; and what He takes away, no man can give. This should serve as a lesson to those who would leave no stone unturned as far as scrambling for power only for self centred reasons are concerned. If they have ears, let them hear. And if not………………………….

yar’adua did not die yesterday but de day he accepted the ‘seat offer’ of the presidency nd goodluck became a lucky president de day he accept de ‘seat offer’ of the vice president. so politicians think b/4 u accept a ‘seat offer’. adiue yar’adua.

  16. though death has come to take Yar’dua away bt we must nt forget the fact that he was a man that was ready to turn things around in this country. since no body has power over death let us pray therefore for a blissful rest in peace for its soul…. though wasn’t ready to relinquish power, i think it’s natural to Nigerians. nevertheless it is a big lesson for all Nigerians.

  17. Godpower69 says:

It was a shocking news that yar’adua is gone, the one and only man that granted amnesty to the niger delta region. Your reign will be forever remembered in the history of our great nation. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace………….AMEN

  18. Jumai says:

If something did not happen, it will be difficult to believe that that very thing will one day come to reality. With the way Nigeria is, poor individuals hardly believe that a man on wealth like our late president will hands-up to Almighty God while still on power.

Death always strike at a time it is never invited. Worst of it, it usually strike at the wrong door.

Well, Umaru has completed his life cycle, that is what it all means.

YAR’ADUA, MAY YOUR HUMBLE SOUL REST IN FAPECT FEACE !!! AMIN.
