U.S.A Sets 5 New Records After Crushing Nigeria In Olympics Basketball

The U.S basketball team crushed Nigeria’s team 156 – 73 in a devastating defeat which would forever be etched in the Olympics record books, setting five new records in the process.

Team U.S beat the all-time Olympic scoring record, and the U.S. wasn’t even finished yet. The 156 points is the most ever in Olympic competition, shattering the mark of 138 set by Brazil.

Here is a rundown of all of the records that were tied/broken on Thursday:

Highest Total Score: 156

Largest Margin of Victory Ever For U.S: 83

Most Points Ever Scored By a Single Player: Carmelo Anthony with 37

Most Three’s Ever Made: 29

Tie All-Time Assist Record: 41

Nigeria made 28 total field goals.
