“My Husband Loves Me As I Am” – Dame Patience Jonathan

First Lady Patience Jonathan yesterday returned to a tumultous welcome in Abuja, after a six-week stay in Germany. There was a burst of excitement at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja where the presidential jet that brought her back landed at about 4pm.

Dame Patience threw her two hands up in the air as the crowd of government officials, governors’ wives, politicians and women groups hailed her arrival.

Mrs Jonathan who spoke to reporters at the airport said: “I am happy to be back in Nigeria.

“There are a few Nigerians that are saying whatever they like, not what God planned because God has a plan for all of us.

“God has said it all, that when two or three are gathered in His name, that He will be with them. And Nigerians gathered and prayed for me and God listened and heard their prayers, so I thank God for that.

“At the same time, I will use this opportunity to speak to those few ones saying that anybody that goes to the Villa or Aso Rock will die.

“They mentioned the late Gen. Sani Abacha, they mentioned the late Stella Obasanjo, they mentioned the late President Umar Yar’Adua and other people. But why didn’t they mention those ones that went there with their families and succeeded and they still came out alive?

“We should remember that Aso Rock is the seat of power and that is where God has ordained for Nigerians that our leaders should rule from and to rule us right.

“At the same time, I read in the media where they said I was in the hospital. God Almighty knows I have never been to that hospital. I don’t even know the hospital they mentioned.

“I have to explain what God has done for me. I do not have a terminal illness. I did not undergo cosmetic surgery, let alone a tummy tuck.

“My husband loves me as I am and I am pleased with how God created me, I cannot add to it.

“But at the same time, I will use this opportunity to thank my beloved husband and my children, my staff in general and all Nigerians for standing by me during my trying time.

“God has given me a second chance to come and work with women of Nigeria, children and the less privileged. I have come to serve Nigeria. I have come to work with Nigerians, I am there for them.

“Once more, I am pleased to be back. I love Nigerians; they are my family.”

  3. Ajienka the VC of uniport should be made to take responsibility too for the Aluu4 incident, why say he is not responsible for students who stay off- campus when he doesn’t offer on-campus accommodation. Since his tenure he has been commissioning offices, department blocks. ON-CAMPUS ACCOMODATION SHOULD B MADE AVAILABLE FOR ALL STUDENTS SO THAT LIVING OFF- CAMPUS WON’T B D ONLY OPTION!!

  6. @emmanuel its better to speak pidgin English if you cannot express yourself in proper British English! Your spellings are to say the least horrendous and I suggest you consider joining your first lady in a community primary school for upgrading! I made a comment on this thread which covers my freedom of expression and speech, don’t know why y’all motherfuking faggots are hating? Yet your English is just as shitty as the first lady’s! Well I guess birds of a feather flock togrther! Please @the don and @emmanuel get a life! You ass holes!

  7. @Chukwudi45 learn how to address people, especially those God has placed over you. You may require some little brush up on the use of public platform. I know for real, you would not want anyone to talk to your mum that way you did, should opportunity be given to her as the first Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you

  8. Whoever God has blessed,is blessed,it doesn‘t matter if he/she is a Professor or a stark illiterate. The First lady is a human being & it is expected if she experiences illness. The problem here is as a result of envy & greed by enemies of progress & oppositions who wish the poor woman evil. As for me & my household,i wish Dame Patient Jonathan all the best.

  12. @chukwudi……haba….y use offensive words here?if we type wrongly or speak wrongly is it a crime?is english ur mother tongue???u r a bonafide igbo lad, stop messing us up. Dame is knocking herself out with borrowed language bt d richest man in ur community as a whole cant stand where she stands.. So wats d beef?

  13. @ blessing,
swdy, thanks 4 putting dt young man(chukwudi) through,………
God dosent see as man does……anybody can stay in his village and speak all the english he wants………..while others who speak unpolished english are at the other end, enjoying all they can……
1 more thing, if anybody isnt comfortable with my firstlady’s vocabulary collection, same should refrain from watching her on air(cos i know same dosent have live access to her)………or worststill sue her for wrong use of english words………
BUT EXCUSING HER FROM THAT SEAT IS A LIMIT YOU CANT BREAK………………………….*staight face*

  14. @Chukudi, what is your problem? who made you a judge over how another speaks? why can’t you let the poor woman who is thanking God for her health be. Do you think you can speak better English ? Welcome back my dear first lady, may God grant you good health IJN.

  15. Chukwudi45. You need to grow up. Your comments are foolish. While Dame Jonathan might not be my favorite First Lady, her spoken English is the least of our worries. We have had Presidents that had problems communicating. Perhaps you are too young to remember but you could ask your parents about Babangida’s coup d’etat speech in the 80’s.
We should be more worried about the lack of direction in governance, the very poor state of our economy and now the Boko Haram onslaught than people’s mastery of English language or otherwise.
You do need a lot of growing up to do my dear Chukwudi. And please do your self a huge favor by refraining from the use of profanities in public discourse such as this. English is our second language ok!!!
